Universal Works : Donegal Knitted Jacket
You can’t knock David Keyte’s Universal Works for getting their range to what seems onto most retailers rails this year, and deservedly so I say.
One such (unlikely) retailer that’s started pick up on the momentum that the independents have switched onto is Urban Outfitters, now I know you’re more likely to associate them with targeting consumers that prefer skinny jeans, vintage band t-shirts and fond of the odd tattoo, but give them their dues they do stock some key items. I’m also grateful they do as it gives me the opportunity to go down to the high street and see things ‘in the flesh’, remember when we did that?
The last time I wandered around the High Street Retailer, one particular garment that caught my eye, and isn’t available everywhere, is the Donegal Knitted Jacket. Well, they call it a jacket but to me it’s a bloody cardigan. It’s heavy knit consistency will give you the necessary warmth this winter and the lovely fleck detail, which reminds me of a Inverallan (RIP) interpretation that sadly got away, gives you something a little different to other cardies which are on offer out there.
Coming in at £210 it’s not cheap, but in my opinion, certainly worth it. An added bonus is it’s available online so you don’t even have to make idle chit-chat with some emo shop assistant.

Urban Outfitters in the States have done shoe collabs with Mark McNairy’s New Amsterdam as well; would love to see them over here.
very smart.
