6876 : Conner Shirt
6876 has long been a staple for those, like us, keen on their menswear individual, timeless, crafted and with attention to detail in spades. Indeed, it seems that they have pre-empted the increased demand for thoughtfully designed, well made and impeccably constructed clothing and accessories in recent years, with a consistent aesthetic since inception.
Numbers limited as hen’s teeth, and rigorously controlled distribution add to the cachet for the brand started in 1995 by Kenneth Mackenzie, and (wonderfully) named after the Parisienne student uprisings, and birth of punk respectively.
Latest in a series of bi-monthly releases amongst some lovely clothes and bags alternating between new releases and re-issues, is the Conner shirt. As ever, fabric and form are to the fore, with Italian cotton, a reinforced taped shoulder, back yoke seams and a military influenced pocket entry panel.
The Conner comes in gingham check and stripe; I’d tip slightly towards the gingham, but both would make a handsome addition to better wardrobes for the Spring, and many a season to come.
