Introducing : Spencer by Oliver Spencer‏

If the new Oliver Spencer shoe shop on Lamb’s Conduit Street in London’s Bloomsbury doesn’t look dangerous enough for those of us with a penchant for great, well made and designed footwear, then his new diffusion range, Spencer should be met with excitement and trepidation in equal measure. As befits a diffusion range the collection straddles casual affordability with a high-end ethos. For us, more options away from the increasingly hackneyed trainer are always welcome, especially when it’s done as well as this. Those already familiar with the simple, unfussy style of Oliver Spencer’s clothes will have their interest piqued.

First up from the Spencer collection are the Cricket and Kayak models. The Cricket is a lightweight derby style suede or nubuck number which looks perfect for the coming months, and ranks amongst the nicest shoes I’ve seen in many a time; great with denim, cord or khaki, and keeping perfectly with Oliver Spencer’s ethos of fusing Americana and Japanese design with a uniquely British aesthetic.

The Kayak is a moccasin style boot in Navy, Burgundy or Peanut which cuts a more rugged silhouette, while keeping matters smart and crisp; a great option amongst the Quoddy, Yuketen, Sperry, Sebago and more which have been so key in recent years, and will rightly continue to do so.

Both the Cricket and the Kayak are made in Portugal, and bode extremely well for the full collection to come; an exciting new addition to the Oliver Spencer family, and our shoe collections.

Both are available exclusively for this season from Oliver Spencer’s new shop:
