Oddities : Welcome to the Land of Oddz

I am one of a breed whose home has been colonised. As has my wardrobe. I’m not alone. There are a merry band upon whom you can spot certain idiosyncratic prints and designs; from t-shirts and scarves to bags, cushion covers, prints, dish-towels and beyond. Worse still, they have designs on our kids, with contented babies bibbed and swaddled in inimitable style by their Oddlings range. Said designs are the work of the extended family of Oddities.

Oddities originated as a relative side-line of the sadly defunct Edinburgh store Odd One Out, owned and run by Edinburgh stalwart Vixy Rae. Vixy and partner in crime Susie Wright have developed a unique aesthetic, thanks to Susie’s vision and stunning, idiosyncratic illustrations which help define the brand’s identity. The Oddities family extends to collaborations and designs from regular contributors, including Dominic Sum Flannigan, whose designs grace Oddities while he expands globally with the excellent LuckyMe collective.

Of particular note are the new bandanas, scarves, duck egg blue shopper and fawn satchel, which may well not remain the preserve of the women’s section for long. The new season is available in selected stores in the flesh and on-line through their web-store.
