Silas : AW11 | Trends Reunited

In a world where so much pretence is prevalent – Silas prefer to advocate being who you really are …
It’s always a rare pleasure when a great label from our recent past comes back to centre stage after some time away. As the ever clunking title alludes to, it’s similar to the rekindling of a lost love, or rediscovery of a favourite pen pal after many years.
In this case, that pleasure is greater in a couple of ways. First of all, the brand in question is Silas and Maria, who still have a place in our hearts and wardrobes with iconic tshirts, sweats, jeans and accessories for both sexes. Second, they’re back in the UK (a la pen pal) after relocating to Japan, and are better than ever.
More specifically, the brand feels like it suits us more than ever before, rather than certain ‘street’ labels which feel a bit too Emperor’s New Clothes with the passing of time.
Put bluntly, the clothes are more mature even if we aren’t; the focus (as with all we like best) is firmly on premium fabrics, cut and colour, to create a timeless, wearable collection.
A new store in Islington next month, and collabs with Slam City Skates and Japan’s Key futher cement the ‘good to be back’ vibes coming aplenty from Silas. Add super fresh images from Shaniqwa Jarvis for the exclusive shoot showcased here, and the future looks brighter than ever for Silas….
