Barbour x Steve McQueen : Giveaway
I should confess from the outset a deep-seated, long-term love of Barbour as a brand, as the unreasonable amount of their work in my house can readily confirm. While their range, and profile has grown steadily over the last few years (through, in part, diversifying their lines and collabs such as the To Ki To range), a strong percentage of their output remains classic, always practical and frequently better with age.

For Autumn/ Winter 11 Barbour have released a limited range inspired by another icon, Steve McQueen, to celebrate the 75th anniversary of their International jacket. McQueen himself was a fan, and famously wore the International when he represented the US in 1964 International Six Day Trials in East Germany.
The capsule collection includes a range of jackets with classic archive shots of McQueen’s image incorporated into the linings, and some inspired directly by the US team jacket McQueen wore himself, which manage to incorporate the Stars and Stripes into something wearable well beyond the Heartland. In addition, there’s a cracking range of tees, shirts and knits, with great attention to detail and the quality which has stood Barbour in good stead since 1894. While they may not make you a legend instantly, they’re handsome pieces, and we’ve all got to start somewhere.
