RRL Ralph Lauren : AW|11

Ralph Lauren remains a behemoth in all things fashion, with a dizzying range of collections of clothing, accessories, furnishings and more. Having recently dropped the Polo monicker from his trademark line, Ralph Lauren have revealed an exquisite new lookbook for their RRL Autumn/ Winter range.

As with the clothes featured throughout, the attention to detail for a range of images is wilfully stylised, and enormously appealing. Inspired by Americana, arguably from late 19th Century through the 20s, they put in mind some of the most memorable period shots from the wonderful These Americans site, and show the collection in a fresh light.

The clothes, meantime, likely sit better on our pages than the likes of Black and Purple labels- at the risk of using the increasingly ubiquitous H-word (heritage), the menswear of double RL is inspired, as is the shoot, by an idealised spirit of the West, and classic workwear. Named after Lauren’s own ranch, the label has kept true to both its vision, and exceptionally high standards of production and design reflected so admirably by the images shown here.
